High
Technical Textile School was the first high school in the south of
Serbia, founded on July 1st 1959 and opened on November 4th
the same year. About 2400 students from the country and abroad
graduated from the school since then.
Reforms of society, transformation of economy and changes in
the system of higher education, caused changes in the teaching plans
and programs, so that in the school year 2003/2004 the teaching is
organized with the following majors mechanical textile technology,
textile finishing,
ready-made clothing and textile design and modeling of clothes. The
studies last 5 terms plus finals. Graduate students get the title
Textile engineer. The school has adequate teaching personnel,
adequate premises and laboratories and modern teaching equipment. In
another part of the same building Wool Institute is situated. It has
ISO 9002 and is member of IWTO. The textile school, first of this
kind in the Balkans, is situated in the same yard. It educates all
profiles of textile technicians and workers and has small workshops
for student training and production sections (spinning, ready-made
clothing and knitting).
Professors and associates
have adequate scientific degrees,
and practical experience and take active part in application
of new scientific and technological achievements in economy and also
in publishing papers in domestic and foreign magazines.
After the democratic changes in our society and the transformation
of economy, since our country signed the Bologne declaration of
October 17th 2003 in Berlin, we are taking appropriate
measures towards the transformation of our school.
Accordingly, we have prepared new teaching plan and programs for the
three year studies (6 terms). They were verified from the Ministry
of Education and Sports of the Republic of Serbia and are going to be applied from 2005/2006 school year.
